I am a Nepal-registered veterinarian (BVSc & AH, Agriculture and Forestry University, CGPA 3.79) with a keen interest in microbiology and a passion for understanding how bacteria resist the drugs we rely on.
My work centres on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in foodborne and zoonotic bacteria, including Salmonella, E. coli and Staphylococcus, across poultry, livestock, retail meat and wildlife in Nepal.
I enjoy the full path from sample collection and bacterial isolation to susceptibility testing, ESBL detection and biofilm assays, and I am keen to link phenotypic resistance with genotypic data from a One Health perspective.
I teach veterinary science at diploma level and enjoy mentoring students and collaborating in research teams.
CLSI-based susceptibility testing, MIC by broth microdilution, and ESBL (blaCTX-M) detection in animal and food isolates.
Linking phenotype to genotype, and tracing how resistant clones spread along the food chain.
Salmonella, E. coli and Staphylococcus across poultry, livestock, retail meat and wildlife.
Biofilm formation and antibiotic tolerance, from crystal-violet assays toward molecular mechanisms.
Epidemiological, spatial and statistical approaches, with data analysis and visualization in R.
Resistance across animals, the environment and people.
